    Self care is not selfish, it is a way to reach out to others because you have reached yourself
    I can feel the quality in each page turn. . . the texture and thickness of the paper. I like the format of the spiral and the hard cover front and back making it so easy to curl up in my chair with my coffee, pen, and the sunrise. The graphics are soft, appealing, and alluring to find a calm centerness in my responses. The writing space is ample, but also limits you to express your self in a concise, mindful, sacinct way. Now to continue my 13 week quest for growth and acceptance.Living Gently,Laura Ann

    Life-Changing
    It took me far more than 13 weeks to get through it because the first couple of dozen exercises were so difficult for me – just proof of how much I needed this. But I kept going and it completely changed how I look at myself, and others. My self-esteem is now better than it has ever been in my life. Thank you thank you thank you to Switch Research for this amazing journal.

    Great for people beginning this journey with no knowledge on this topic
    I am on currently working on week 5 of this journal and so far, its not exactly what I was looking for. The first 4 weeks are really going down to the rudimentary of emotions, which is great for people who want to learn more about emotions and why we do things the way we do. But for me 99% of it was stuff I already knew.I think the journal was visually appealing, sturdy, nice thick pages that didn’t bleed through with gel pens. But overall, I felt most of the “Daily Intention & Reflection” space for writing was very wasteful, most of my entries didn’t need the extra page. I really loved that they added their references to all of their research at the end of book (legally needed or not); great place to find more resources of knowledge on your journey for emotional control and stability :). One little annoying thing I saw was a inconsistency on how the numbering of days/weeks went. The checklist in the front indicated week 1-9 and days only as 1-7 but the overall journal counted by total days 1-64, I actually went in and wrote the day since I kept forgetting.One big thing I think would have been really nice to have with the extra page they offered for entries was add on the sides of the page the feeling wheel or a summarized version to use; I went back to that page ALL the time to help me name what I was feeling, same with the “Hyperarousal, Hyperarousal page; it was great to be reminded where I was emotionally to determine the best way to help put me back in my “window of tolerance”, a small summary on the side of the page of these topics would allow the daily reflections also create emotional check-ins as well as answering the question for the day to really put in use what we learn along the way. Either way using the extra page to remind the user or previous learnt things or something would have bene really cool!Overall, I would recommend this journal to someone who is new to this journey or interested in relearning their emotional journey. But if you are already aware of your emotions, window of tolerance, primary/secondary emotions, the emotional iceberg, etc. The first 4 weeks will be redundant and possibly unnecessary. This journal does help you understand and help bring emotional awareness, but so far I have not seen the “regulation” part. Weeks 5 and up seem to be the meat of this journal where I am excited to explore and where I hope to see the skill of HOW to regulate my emotions.
