Very nice journal
I’m always trying and buying journals and workbooks as part of a self growth and development initiative. I love the prompts in this book. They are thoughtful, high quality, and the detail and artwork is pretty.

If you like to write but hate traditional journaling this book is for you
So far I’m liking it but can say that a few questions are very broad or not clear enough but very good notebook nonetheless. It makes you pour your heart into every single section.

The timing is odd
I was very excited to get this book. I received it today, because it was just released yesterday (September 24th, 2020)…and the book starts week one in Spring. September release…and the Week 1 starts in Spring. I tend to be detail oriented and if something small seems off, it’s going to bother the hell out of me. It may seem minor to someone else, but I can’t get past it. I was just flipping through it and it seems the book will periodically remind you what season the book is in with a daily exercise being season themed or the fact that every other page has the season at the bottom of it, but it won’t be what season you’re actually in in real life.”Oh, just shut up and start in Autumn (Fall)!” Some might say. Well, then according to the book, I’ll be starting in week 27.Again, maybe a minor detail that is easily overlooked by others. I’m just very confused as to why it would stress the seasons so much, then be released out of season. Am I expected to wait until Spring 2021 to start? I’m already losing my Zen just thinking about this

Perfect Guided Journal
Journaling is a hard habit for me to stick with. This journal has made it super easy and as promised, has created a lot of reflection. This journal is perfect if you are just starting, there is a guided prompt for each day and they only take about 5 minutes to complete.I love this so much I’ve purchased for friends!

A Beautiful Journal
I was a little reluctant to order this journal because the word “Zen” has often led me to concepts that I didn’t really understand. So far, however, I have found the writing prompts in A Year of Zen to be sensible but thought provoking. The pages are made of quality paper and the illustrations on each page add a lovely touch without being overwhelming. The journal starts with the first week of spring, but since I received it later in the spring, I started writing on the week that corresponded with the actual calendar week I got it. I did not respond to each of the seven days for which prompts were given. Some seemed to need more thought. My plan is to write in response to those that I can answer now, then follow up next year as the seasons roll by. I think it will be interesting in a year to see how I responded to prompts the previous year.All-in-all, my response to this journal is very favorable!

SEASONAL: Meant to be started on the first week of spring
This was arranged in a seasonal way which didn’t fit if you received this in any other season except Spring. It made it confusing to know where to start since week one for me was in the summertime. If I started there, it was titled week 14! The prompts were occasionally seasonal prompts, so they didn’t make sense that week. My book ended up in a very mixed up state when i realized this and started dating the pages and using them in a random order. Mt satisfaction with this was mixed and that’s why i could only rate it at 3 stars

Nice journal
I am 2 weeks into this journal and I like it. Each week has 7 prompts so it’s nice to do one everyday, or you could wait until the end of the week and do a reflection of the week and complete all of them at once. I like doing 1 a day because it allows me to take a break from work to slow down and focus on what I am writing.

I bought this part way through the year when I wanted to get into a regular habit of doing some reflective writing as part of my Buddhist practice.I found it fine starting part way through the book and I’m enjoying the writing prompts. Some are fairly straightforward but others really do get your mind working and I’ve enjoyed the drawing and activity prompts as well.Definitely something I’m going to continue with in the future!
